Method of doing Tadagi Mudra –

  • First of all, sit in the starting position and keep a little distance between the toes.
  • Keeping your head and spine straight, place your hands on your knees.
  • Now close the eyes and bring the whole body, especially the abdominal region, in a state of relaxation.
  • Bend forward and hold the toes with the thumb and forefinger of the hand.
  • Keep your head straight in front.
  • Now while fully expanding your abdominal muscles, take a deep breath slowly and hold the breath for as long as you can comfortably.
  • Do not put any joint on the lungs and while relaxing the abdomen, slowly exhale deeply.
  • Now hold the toes and in the same way breathe 10 times.
  • After that release the thumbs and come back to the starting position.
  • This completed one cycle of Tadagi Mudra.

Duration to do Tadagi Mudra –

The cycle of the practice of Tadagi-Mudra should be increased gradually. Initially, practice 3 to 5 rounds of Tadagi Mudra.

So the manner of sitting is similar to the sitting position of a frog in rest. In yoga, the Manduki mudra is practiced as a kriya.

Method of doing Manduki Mudra –

  • To do this posture, first of all, sit in Bhadrasana.
  • Keep the toes facing out. If there is any inconvenience, you can keep it inside as well.
  • Keep your buttocks on the ground. If this position also feels uncomfortable, place a thin pillow or a folded blanket under your buttocks to put more pressure on the Muladhara.
  • This is because, by placing something under the buttocks, stimulation can be created in the area of the Muladhara Chakra.
  • Place both the hands on the knees, keep the spine and head straight and close your eyes and relax the whole body.
  • This position is called Manduki Mudra.
  • After some time open your eyes and look at the nostrils.
  • While looking at the nose, if it reaches the eyes, then give them rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Continue the practice until the mind and senses become introverted.
  • Initially practice Manduki-Mudra for 5 minutes.

The breathing should be slow and rhythmic while performing Manduki-Mudra.

Limits of doing Manduki Mudra –

  •  People who are suffering from glaucoma should not practice this mudra.
